This exhibition brings together six artists to construct a speculative prototype of a “silicon-based garden,” initiating an open thought experiment on the definition of life. Challenging the carbon-centric paradigm, it explores alternative forms of existence—both biological and social—that have been historically marginalized, from queer communities to the concept of non-carbon-based life.

Rooted in Eastern philosophy, "Between Coexistence" reflects on the delicate balance between the inner and outer worlds—offering viewers a glimpse into how cross-cultural experiences shape the practices of Chinese students living in the UK. Through a diverse range of media including contemporary Chinese painting, crafts, textiles, digital media, and installation art, the exhibition invites audiences on a three-part journey.

Arthing

The exhibition brings together 66 contemporary artists from China and abroad, presenting nearly 150 works across sculpture, installation, AIGC-based digital art, and MR interactive experiences. Centered on the inaugural exhibition “This Peak Beyond Peaks”, it unfolds an intergenerational dialogue from the 1950s to the 2000s—spanning from Liu Yonggang’s monumental public sculptures to Yuchen Li’s experimental works in data-driven and mixed-reality environments—reflecting the continuity and evolution of contemporary art through time and media.
